The Arc de Triomphe has 1600 steps to get to the top… I jogged up, no worries…
The Arc de Triomphe has 1700 steps to get to the bottom. It was built before they invented the set square or spirit level. Close enough… what were they going to do, knock it down and start again? In the end, it turned out OK. I don’t think I could have made it up 1700 steps… 1600 was enough.
For those of you who remember, this is the roundabout the Griswalds got stuck going around and around. I manned up and crossed the street instead of taking the underpass.
The day I climbed up was the same day they held the world’s largest zombie walk – down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, famous for being the last road that Lance Armstrong ever raced on.
